Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge

Historic Scotland

This tour traces the history of Scotland from Neolithic Orkney to the modern parliament and discussions on whether Scotland will reach out for full independence from Great Britain. This tour is often operated in conjunction with one of the many Highland Games or related to a specific Clan Gathering. Sections of the tour can be operated in isolation, especially the Orkney section which is of specific interest to those of Scandinavian origin and can be extended to include Shetland.

Social History & Lessons Learned

Versions of this tour have been used for groups who are interested in closely related subjects such as Town Planners, Medical Groups, Teacher Groups, those interested in the social history of Britain and others. This particular example focuses on the Industrial revolution, The Victorian era and the social solutions that both these boom times caused. Highlights include visiting several unique World Heritage Sites and actually staying in one.

The English Civil War

The English Civil War is perhaps the definitive cautionary tale for revolutionaries. Cromwell's idealistic young men thought they were the future. The reality is that their future came to reflect the past. In this 10 day journey through England explore the people and places associated with the conflict, Oliver Cromwell, Charles I, Warwick Castle, Hampton Court Palace and the important battlefield sites at Edgehill, Worcester and Naseby.
